dOCUMENTA 13 (2012) (Carolyn Christov Bakargiev) Research Notes:

) The book is rather large and in catalogue form
) The making of section shows introduction letters to specific places, plus they are written in different languages too
) It is full of images that variate, whether it be a photo of somebody or some people doing something, or it might be of an event that is, but is a photo montage of pictures, a lot of them do have Carolyn in them
) contains text extracts from events, opinions, things that they are talking about from what has happened
) The text extracts and images can get repetitive, as there are a lot of pages in the book
) “dOCUMENTA 13 is driven by a holistic, eco feminist, and nonlogocentric vision that is shared with, and that recognises, the knowledge of all animate and inanimate elements [use”makers” instead?]”. (Page 67)
) It’s interesting looking at the amount of artwork in the book, the White pages section is good, the pictures are taken in Halle, Kabul, etc
) A lot of the text in the book is german
) “Experience cannot be bought or sold, nor is it the same as experiencing”. (Page 296)
